Hidden Beaches

There are picturesque, hidden corners just a few Kilometres from Riccione for nature lovers and they should be sought out carefully.

Off we go!

A few kilometres south of Riccione is Vallugola Bay. It is a natural inlet situated between the promontories of Gabicce and Casteldimezzo. It can be reached from Gabicce Monte by first taking the Via Panoramica and then the Vallugola Road. The name of the bay derives from the fact that voices resound in the valley. The beach, small and composed of gravel and pebbles, is located at the foot of the mountain cliff and offers a crystal-clear sea. It is a romantic spot, with some equipped activities. Here, you will find a free beach with sand and pebbles, and a sandy beach where you can rent sunbeds and umbrellas. At the marina and on the beach, there are lovely restaurants with beautiful sea views.

Moving a little further south, we find the Monte San Bartolo Natural Park, a true paradise in the province of Pesaro. Here there are two beautiful beaches with clear water: Casteldimezzo and Fiorenzuola di Focara.

Casteldimezzo
Once you arrive in the hamlet, follow the Via delle Rive del Faro to the beautiful little beach of Casteldimezzo. The path, about 1 km long, is somewhat winding and sloping, so it is advisable to wear comfortable shoes. The pebble beach is immersed in nature, almost deserted even during the high season. Once there, you can dive into the clear waters and admire the ruins of the old lighthouse near the beach.

Fiorenzuola Focara
The village of Fiorenzuola di Focara is a 15-minute drive from Gabicce Monte along the Panoramica road towards Pesaro. After a 20-minute walk along a forest path that descends from the village to the sea, you reach the shoreline. This discrete and elusive area is shrouded in the vegetation of the San Bartolo Park. The beach, composed in some areas of soft, light-coloured sand and in others of gravel and pebbles, is overhung by high rock walls overhanging the sea, creating a natural and evocative setting. The area is free, with no beach umbrellas or bars.
